About

I am a software engineer based in Gaborone, Botswana, building healthcare technology at a global scale. At Cavista Technologies, I work on enterprise software that powers home health, hospice, palliative care, and care operations for thousands of organisations worldwide. When clinicians need the system to work, I am the one they call.

My journey into tech started with curiosity and was shaped by real-world problems. I studied Computer Science at the University of Botswana, graduated in 2023, and have spent the years since building production systems that actually matter. I have developed a genuine depth in the healthcare domain, from CMS compliance and patient workflows to payroll systems and clinical documentation, knowledge most engineers my age simply do not have.

Beyond the day job, I am a community builder. I contribute to the open source and innovation ecosystems in Botswana as a tech lead, speaker, and mentor. And since 2021, I have been building Afurotaku, a Japanese pop culture platform that started as a podcast and grew into Botswana's premier anime and cosplay events brand.

I believe technology should be built with intention, shipped with care, and shared with community.

Afurotaku

アフロタク

Founder & Event Director · March 2021 – Present

What started as a passion podcast in March 2021 has grown into Botswana's premier Japanese pop culture platform. Afurotaku operates under the So You Like Anime? (SYLA) brand and brought its first live events to Gaborone in December 2024.

I did not just start an events company. I built the entire operational technology stack behind it: the public website, a QR-based event check-in system, a vendor stall application portal, and post-event media production tools. Afurotaku is both a cultural project and a software project.

SYLA Spring Festival 2026 was delivered in partnership with the Embassy of Japan and drew an estimated 500 to 800 attendees, the largest anime-focused event in Botswana's history.
